Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard are footballers and play for Liverpool.

Jamie Carragher is involved in charity work, and runs the 23 foundation which aims to give the local kids of  Merseyside a chance of a better life and achieving their dreams.

Football Factory - Scouse Scene

This is a scene from the film Football Factory an English film from 2004 directed by Nick Love.
The two lads  Zeb and Raf are kicked off the football coach in Liverpool when its found out that they robbed Billy's house, who is a leading figure of the group.

The two boys find themselves being chased by some scousers with stanley knives that are hanging about amongst some junk and rubble (shows that they don't have nice places to hang about, that Liverpool is a mess and that they have nothing better to do than cause trouble)

After being chased the boys get off the coach and start firing abuse and throwing stuff back at the scousers causing them to run off. (all the lads are from London and speak with a strong cockney accent, this is usually associated with working class. Even though the scouse boys start off being the more intimidating ones they are soon overpowered by the Londoners)

The Beatles

The Beatles were from Liverpool and come under the Scouse bracket.
They were a massively famous band in the 60s, bringing about a whole new music movement.



They were a group of talented lads that all played instruments.

- This shows that instead of being involved in crime and other stereotypical scouse ways, they spent their time making music and doing something productive.
Therefore this goes against the idea that Scousers are bad.

The 2009 English film Nowhere Boy, is about John Lennon as a young lad growing up in Liverpool. It shows an insight to his life and the hard times and struggles he had to face and go through. It also shows his reckless behaviour and that it wasn't until he formed a band that things settled down (almost!)

As a young boy John Lennon would mess about getting into trouble and getting himself excluded from school, this shows that at a younger age he was going in the direction of falling under the typical scouse stereotype, but as he got into music this became his focus and he grew up to become a genius figure from Liverpool.

Knockout Scousers - July 2012, E4
